Tennessee native Latrice lived with untreated high cholesterol for at least a decade. Yet, as a Black woman, she says her concerns were minimized by her former health care professionals. Today Latrice has a new doctor and is on a new medication that is managing her high LDL-C. Now, she wants to share her story to raise awareness of this hidden public health crisis and shine a light on the disparities in care Black women, like her, face every day.
