News Anchor and Reporter at Telemundo Tampa
Cristina is the anchor of the 5pm, 6pm and 11pm newscasts, Monday-Friday at WRMD Telemundo 49. Prior to moving to Tampa, Florida, she lived in Miami working as reporter/producer for the news division of Telemundo Network. During her years in Miami she also worked as a correspondent for CNN en Español covering national and international headlines such as the trial of Panama’s dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega and the impact of Hurricane Ike in Galveston,Texas. Cristina also reported for Univision where she contributed to network coverage of the 2008 Republican National Convention. Cristina’s prior experience includes reporting for WFOR in Miami, and WPBF in West Palm Beach. Previously, Cristina was a Chicago-based freelance correspondent for Univision. She began her 20 year career as a general assignment reporter for WLTV 23, Univision’s flagship station, in Miami.
Cristina is a recipient of a Society of Professional Journalists Award and has received three Emmy nominations; two national and one regional, respectively. Cristina graduated from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her proudest accomplishment, however, is being Mom to her three adult children.
