Check out this awesome video from Pinellas County Schools! Five female students from Lakewood High School will work with Tech Data Corporation to address the need for more women in STEM for the 2016 Young Women in Tech Challenge!
 

The Pinellas County School district’s K-12 STEM area in collaboration with the Women’s Conference of Florida have partnered to participate in the Young Women in Tech Challenge. 

Five females from Lakewood High School will represent Pinellas County Schools and will work with the Tech Data Corporation. The ultimate goal of the project is to address the necessity of women overcoming hurdles in STEM related career fields. Recently, the students researched top executives and learned more about women in technology related careers

Employees from Tech Data Corporation and the Lakewood High students are working to develop a presentation and a public service announcement, which will be judged by a panel of technology industry leaders. At the same time, they will compete against students from Hillsborough County Public Schools.

The Women’s Conference of Florida will be held May 19 -20th in Tampa.
